Our History

Aptly named after the distance between Devon’s Capital City and the stunning seaside town of Sidmouth, you will find 14 Miles East in view of the promenade on Fore Street.

The property itself, was a large house named High Hall.  A long history with food and drink became established with Edwin Grove Trump opening Trumps Café in 1901.  The property was later converted into the New Tavern and with the most recent use of the building being part of Carina's Nite Club, closing in 2018.

The leisure industry is a constantly changing entity and we hope that 14 Miles East will provide the local community with a friendly, relaxed venue for great food and drinks to be enjoyed.
